Language packs

Applies to the following products:
Questionmark Perception
Applies to the following Perception versions:
Perception 5.7

If you are installing Perception on a non-English version of Windows, or you intend to use multiple languages, it is important that you ensure your system has the relevant language packs/translation tables installed so that the relevant code pages (as used by Perception and translated languages) are available to the system.

Installing the appropriate language pack will stop characters from being displayed incorrectly.

Installing language packs for Windows Server 2008 and R2

The language packs can be obtained from the Microsoft Download Center. Be sure to download and install the relevant language pack for your operating system. For example there are separate language packs for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2, just as there are different language packs for the x86 and x64 architectures.

The language packs for these operating systems are grouped:

  • Group 1 (English, German, Japanese, French, Spanish)
  • Group 2 (Chinese Simplified, Chinese Hong Kong, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil))
  • Group 4 (Italian, Russian, Portuguese (Portugal), Dutch, Swedish)
  • Group 5 (Polish, Turkish, Czech, Hungarian)
  • Group 6 (Arabic, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Hebrew, Greek, Thai, Ukrainian, Romanian, Slovakian, Slovenian, Croatian, Serbian Latin, Bulgarian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian)

To ensure the language compatibility if, for example, you are working with English and Arabic, you would need to install the group 1 and group 6 languages packs.

Please search the Microsoft Download Center for the relevant language packs and refer to the install documentation for details about how to apply them to your server.
